Having been in numismatics for over thirty-five years I have been established in Rothwell, Northamptonshire since 1983.

I specialise in Greek, Roman, and other ancient coins, but also carry a reasonably extensive stock of hammered coins and milled coins, and a small stock of ancient and mediæval antiquities. My policy has always been to supply unusual and interesting items in reasonable condition and at affordable prices.

I also offer an expert clock and watch repair service.

Home New look website

We have worked hard on a new look for the Coinmac website. The design should present information in a way that is easy on the eye and simple to navigate. It is more standards-compliant, meaning that it should be compatible with more web browsers and operating systems, including handheld devices. It is also more accessible to visually impaired users. The site improvements should now better support Apple Mac users. In particular, Greek inscriptions should now display correctly. Please let me know if you encounter any further glitches using Macs.

Weblog Blog it! The trials and tribulations of Alistair

The new website offers me a new opportunity, a weblog. I'll try to blog interesting snippets and correspondence on my weblog several times a week. Bookmark my weblog link and visit often.

Coins for Sale Buying and Selling

Use the menu bar on the left to navigate the site, or click here for my on-line selection of coins for sale, including Roman Bronze, Roman Imperial, Roman Silver and Billon, Later Roman, Greek Imperial, English Hammered and Miscellaneous coins.

I am particularly interested in buying coins (collections or single items), clocks and watches.

If you wish to buy or sell, phone, write or e-mail to see if I can help. Since I moved from the shop to an office if you would like to meet me in person it would be advisable to make an appointment.

Downloads Checklist

For some time I have being giving out a checklist of Roman imperial coin issuers to customers in the shop. Many have found this useful and so I have now made it available on-line for you to download if you feel it may be interesting. It can be found here.
